Favors of the Vishainii

The Vishainii also know as the Knights of the Forest, are a group of Vyalia elves that see the world in a different way than their kin. They do no contemplate and wait for a threat to pass, hoping their long life will allow them to outlive the danger. They instead share a view of the world that the humans do; act now before it is too late. The Vyalia have the most amount of Half-Elfs within their clans and families as their number often fall in love with their human neighbors. They even extend the teachings of their ancestors to certain humans that have the willingness to serve the greater good of all. The Vishainii are often traveling the world as adventurers to combat some unseen threat or evil; protecting all with their valor. Occansionally when a group or an individual does the Vishainii a great service they present them with an exquiste elven bow and a quiver of arrows. The arrows are a representation of the will and favor of the Knights of the Forest and that carries much weight with friends and enemies alike. A person could use them as one does with an arrow and they would not be disappointed in its craftsmanship. Though the most efficient use of the arrows is as currency. A sort of punctuation of intent. It states to the recipient that their words or actions carry the weight and will of the Vishainii. Below are a few uses for the arrows as currency but ultimately their owner can find all manner of ways to "spend" their arrows.

Vishainii Arrows

  • Vishainii arrows are grown from a tree of life. They are gift of the tree to the Vishainii for the services they do to preserve life. Each arrow is still a living extention of the tree; a wooden shaft and head and strong leaves as fletching. They do not break if they strike their target and they are never lost if they miss (Treat as always recovered). If a firer of the arrow spends a standard action and whispers "Fly fast and strike true" the firer is treated as having cast True Strike. This is an Extraordinary ability.
  • The owner can hand the arrow to another as part of a Diplomacy Skill Check. If the target as an intelligence score greater than 3 and can speak or understand a language then the owner gains a +8 circumstance bonus to their check.
  • The owner can break the arrow as part of an Intimidate Skill Check. If the target as an intelligence score greater than 3 and can speak or understand a language then the owner gains a +8 circumstance bonus to their check.
  • The owner can bestow the arrow upon a mentor in order to gain access to training. It is usually gifted to an elf to allow the owner access to knowledge non-elves are usually restricted from. The more esoteric or protected the knowledge the more arrows are needed to access the training. It is by no means a guarentee that the mentor must train the owner. The mentor may refuse to part with his knowledge if he believes the owner is unworthy of possession of the arrow.
  • The owner may use the arrow as part of the magical attunement process. The arrow is expended during the attunement, withering and dying. The owner is treated as an elf for the purpose of attuning to race only magic items. If the attunement is lost for whatever reason then the owner must repeat the process.
  • The owner may use the arrow as currency to gain the divine services of any clergy of the elven pantheon or clergy of an immortal allied to an elven diety. The more powerful the spell and the more costly or taxing the casting of spell, the more arrows are required. Some simple spells, such as low level curative spells or restorative spells can be gained multiple times or for multiple creatures for a single arrow depending on the attitude of the clergy.
  • The owner may use an arrow to meet a feat requirement of elf only. If the arrow is ever lost, destroyed or "spent" then the owner loses access to said feat until he obtains another arrow and spends time meditating with the new arrow. It takes a full two weeks in which time the owner cannot do any other taxing activities (i.e. feat training rules for training time).
